In July 2009, the ELITech Group, a French privately held group of companies and worldwide manufacturer and distributor of in-vitro diagnostic instruments and reagents finalized the acquisition of Nanogen’s two primary businesses: Epoch Biosciences located in Bothell, Washington and Nanogen Advanced Diagnostics with facilities located in Milan and Turin, Italy.

The ELITech Group is committed to the molecular diagnostics business to become a leading provider bringing high-value molecular diagnostics solutions to laboratories operating closer to the patient. With the introduction of the new brand ELITech Molecular Diagnostics, the Group intends to develop innovative, high-quality products allowing faster and easier diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of infectious diseases, oncology and hematology conditions.

Leveraging Nanogen’s industry-leading diagnostic tools, ELITech Molecular Diagnostics product offering includes tests for various DNA and RNA infectious diseases, genotyping tests for hematology and oncology targets. ELITech Molecular Diagnostics inherits from Nanogen a strong intellectual property portfolio and licensing program, which includes Minor Groove Binder (MGB) technology.

Headquartered in Paris, France, the Elitech Group has brought together IVD specialty companies to provide the best offering of innovative, unique and also routine products to laboratories. It comprises:
