The sensitive and specific identification of infectious disease organisms is of significant interest in a wide variety of healthcare fields, including clinical laboratories for lab developed tests, homeland security for the identification of biowarfare agents, industrial applications such as food and water testing, and veterinary. Our MGB Eclipse® and MGB Alert™ real-time PCR products are ideally suited for the molecular detection of pathogen sequences. The minor groove binder (MGB) technology employed in our products prevents cleavage of the probe and allows for post-PCR melt curve analysis to differentiate subtypes or species specific sequence variations.
In addition, our NanoChip® 400 electronic microarray system can be used to create an assay for multiple pathogen targets. By using the electronic addressing abilities of the NanoChip® 400 cartridge, specific capture oligonucleotide sequences for multiple pathogens can be assayed together for each sample creating a simple multi-test panel for infectious agents.
