DXpress™ Reader

The DXpress Reader is a multi-functional portable tabletop instrument used to read results of quantitative and qualitative in vitro immunodiagnostic assays.  The Reader works in conjunction with Nanogen's StatusFirst® CHF NT-proBNP Test to measure and display quantitative results for NT-proBNP.

The DXpress Reader uses an LED light source to illuminate the test device containing a patient specimen.  The Reader then captures and analyzes the reflected image.  For quantitative tests, the reader converts the intensity of the test result line into a concentration of analyte.  It does this using a calibration profile contained in a pre-programmed data chip.  This data chip is provided with each lot of test devices.  For qualitative tests, the reader reports a qualitative positive or negative result.

Assuring a high level of quality control, the DXpress Reader monitors the internal procedural control of each test device.  The Reader also contains password-protected safeguards to assure that QC parameters are followed and that only authorized personnel can use the reader and change the parameters.
